Peace, Faith, Love and Hope

The Four Candles burned slowly.
Their Ambiance was so soft you
could hear them speak…

The first candle said, “I Am Peace, but these days, nobody
wants to keep me lit.” Then Peace’s flame slowly
diminishes and goes out completely.

The second candle says, “I Am Faith, but these days, I am
no longer indispensable.” Then Faith’s flame slowly
diminishes and goes out completely.

Sadly the third candle spoke, “I Am Love and I haven’t the
strength to stay lit any longer.”
“People put me aside and don’t understand my
importance. They even forget to love those who are
nearest to them.” And waiting no longer, Love goes out
completely.

Suddenly…A child enters the room and sees the three
candles no longer burning. The child begins to cry, “Why
are you not burning? You are supposed to stay lit until the
end.”

Then the Fourth Candle spoke gently to the little boy,
“Don’t be afraid, for I Am Hope, and while I still burn, we
can re-light the other candles.”

With Shining eyes the child took the Candle of Hope and
lit the other three candles.

Never let the Flame of Hope go out of your life.
With Hope, no matter how bad things look and
are…Peace, Faith and Love can Shine Brightly in our lives.

 
สันติภาพ ศรัทธา ความรัก และความหวัง
เปลวเทียนทั้ง 4 เล่ม ค่อยๆ พลิ้วไหวไปอย่างช้าๆ
บรรยากาศรอบข้าง ช่างแผ่วเบายิ่งนัก
หากเราเงี่ยหูฟัง จะได้ยินเทียนทั้งสี่สนทนากัน . . .

เทียนเล่มแรก เอ่ย “ฉันคือ สันติภาพ น่าเศร้าเหลือเกิน
ทุกวันนี้ ไม่มีใครอยากให้ฉัน สว่างไสว”
แสงของ “สันติภาพ” ค่อยๆ ริบหรี่ และ ดับไป

เทียนเล่มที่สอง เอ่ย “ฉันคือ ศรัทธา น่าเศร้าหนักหนา
ทุกวันนี้ ไม่มีใครต้องการ”
แสงของ “ศรัทธา” ค่อยๆ ริบหรี่ และ ดับไป

เสียงเอ่ยขึ้นมาอย่างเศร้าใจ เทียนเล่มที่สาม กล่าว “ฉันคือ ความรัก
ฉันไม่เข้มแข็งพอ ที่จะส่องสว่างต่อไป”
“ผู้คนเพิกเฉยและไม่เห็นค่าของฉัน
แม้แต่คนใกล้ชิด พวกเขายังไม่คิดจะเติมรักให้แก่กัน”
ว่าดังนั้น พลัน “ความรัก” ก็ดับไป

ไม่ช้าไม่นาน…เด็กน้อยคนหนึ่งได้เดินเข้ามา
เมื่อพบเทียนสามเล่มดับไป เขาเริ่มร่ำไห้และหลั่งน้ำตา
“ทำไมพวกเธอถึงดับไป พวกเธอต้องสว่างไสวตราบนิรันดร์ไม่ใช่หรือ”

ทันใด เทียนเล่มที่สี่ กระซิบอย่างแผ่วเบา
“อย่ากลัวไปเลยหนูน้อย ตัวฉันนี้คือ ความหวัง ตราบใดที่ฉันยังส่องสว่างอยู่ได้
เทียนสามเล่มนั้น จะกลับมาไม่ช้านาน”

เด็กชายตัวน้อย ตาเป็นประกายด้วยความปิติ
สองมือนั้นค่อยๆ จุด “เทียนแห่งความหวัง” พร้อมกันกับเทียนอีกสามเล่ม

อย่าปล่อยให้ “แสงแห่งความหวัง” ในชีวิตเราดับไป
ไม่ว่าสิ่งต่างๆ จะเลวร้ายหรือแย่สักแค่ไหน
เมื่อเรามี ความหวัง แล้วไซร้ . . .
สันติภาพ ศรัทธา และ ความรัก ก็จะส่องสว่างอยู่ในตัวเราเสมอ
